Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
