The winter transfer window is always a time of feverish rumour and possible big-money deals. A number of high-profile stars find themselves connected to transfers out of their current teams. Here is a look at some of the top figures that might be on the move in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Although the Black Stars' inability to reach the AFCON, which has left the player in contention, indications are a major transfer is close. The Bournemouth attacker has a deal featuring a £65 million buy-out clause active for a two-week window in early January. Recent reports indicate Manchester City have emerged as his signature. Former suitors like Tottenham and Chelsea are said to have moved on to other targets, leaving teams such as Manchester United or Liverpool to attempt a late bid.

M. Guéhi

The English centre-back has continued to excel for Crystal Palace despite a previous move to Liverpool collapsing. As his deal due to run out in the summer, January is the London club's last opportunity to obtain a fee for their captain. A host of elite clubs, such as City and multiple continental powerhouses like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, reportedly hold an interest. However, a January exit remains difficult, especially given the coach's reliance on the defender.

Brennan Johnson

The Wales forward has found first-team opportunities limited at Tottenham this campaign. Although finishing as the side's leading goalscorer the previous campaign, he has started just a handful of Premier League matches. It is understood the London club is open to a sale for the right price, believed to be in the region of £40 million. Bournemouth are currently at the front of the queue, with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Brentford also credited with an interest.

Tottenham value the Welsh international at approximately forty million pounds.

R. Neves

This Portugal midfielder could be set for a return to the English top flight following a period in the Saudi Pro League. Now only 28, while his contract expiring in the summer of 2026, he is a possible opportunity. Clubs such as Manchester United and Liverpool have been connected to the player. Furthermore, there are suggestions from Spain that he would be willing to take a pay cut for a move to Real Madrid.

Marc-André ter Stegen

This experienced German goalkeeper finds himself as third-choice at Barcelona following new manager Flick. After lost his place and had an operation, a January exit seems increasingly likely. Villa were once linked as a potential destination, but that option now appears unlikely. Instead, clubs from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are thought to be showing curiosity in the 33-year-old.

Ivan Toney

The proven England striker has continued scoring regularly in the Middle East. A return to the Premier League could enhance his fading chances of making the England World Cup. But, arranging a transfer poses significant hurdles. His current club are reluctant to part with him, and his alleged huge weekly wages make any move difficult. Everton, Tottenham, and Manchester United have all been mentioned as interested parties.

C. Gallagher

This dynamic English midfielder attracted widespread interest in the summer but stayed at Atlético Madrid. Harvey Elliott

Although excelling and winning player of the tournament at the U21 Euros in the summer, the talented player has struggled for minutes during his loan spell at Aston Villa. Unai Emery has confirmed the loan move won't become permanent. Because of specific rules regarding playing for two clubs in a season, a move back to Liverpool before next summer seems to be the only viable solution.

K. Yildiz

This highly-rated Turkish forward is in excellent form for the Italian giants this season. As his current deal nearing its end, a host of English sides – including Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool – are keeping tabs on the situation. Juventus are desperate to secure the youngster to a new long-term agreement but face a race to retain one of the continent's most promising prospects.

K. Smit

This highly-touted Netherlands midfielder has earned parallels to a Belgian superstar for his style of play. After starring at the Under-19 European Championship, Smit has broken into the AZ Alkmaar first team. The teenager is widely expected to make a big-money transfer in January. Newcastle United reportedly are leading the chase, but could face strong rivalry from Real Madrid for a deal priced at around twenty-two million pounds.
