But after an enigmatic female disappears from the ship overnight and everyone claims she was never there, Laura's investigative instincts take over. Available now, Netflix

Presence Film

Soderbergh tests his creative boundaries in this innovative ghostly tale shot entirely from the perspective of a ghost. When a household including mother Rebekah plus Callina Liang as Chloe moves into their recent residence, the filming device – representing the ghost – follows them around. The daughter appears conscious of the poltergeist, and the entity appears defensive toward her. But why? This is an entertaining concept that doesn't outstay its welcome, including a revelation you might not see coming. October 11th, 4.35pm, 10.10pm, the Sky channel

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Cage fully commits to his eccentric image through this meta comedy caper. He acts as a self-obsessed celebrity playing himself who accepts a $1m payday to visit a festive event on the Spanish island for the wealthy Javi Gutierrez. Hired by government spies to gather intel on the suspected cartel boss, the actor's unique performing skills proves useful. This Saturday, 9pm, Channel 4

This Creepy Thriller

Derrickson's contained scarefest holds up well without requiring a follow-up. Taking place in 1970s Colorado, several child abductions has made the local kids frightened. Once Finney is kidnapped by “the Grabber” and locked up in a basement, he dreads the worst. Yet the old telephone mounted nearby keeps ringing, with spooky callers providing assistance, and the prescient dreams from his sibling Gwen might rescue him. A solid creepfest. October 11th, 10.50pm, Film4

The Eyes of Tammy Faye

In the struggle between God and Mammon, it's a knockout win for greed in Michael Showalter's delightfully tacky biopic of the disgraced televangelist plus her lawbreaking partner. Garfield plays the corrupt Bakker, who states at the beginning, “God does not want us to be poor,”. He and Tammy Faye commence capitalizing on the American public's spiritual convictions. It's a spectacle of poor styling, excessive cosmetics and hypocrisy, though the lead actress manages to show Tammy Faye as a sympathetic figure. Next Tuesday, early morning, on Film4

This Espionage Thriller

This period's another release from Steven Soderbergh presents a intelligence thriller as precise similar to the collars worn by Michael Fassbender's British agent. He receives a mission to discover a double agent inside the organization from five suspects – one of whom is his own wife. The two stars are masters of deadpan cool, resulting in an engaging mental battle of deception or honesty unfolds. Tom Burke, Regé-Jean Page, Naomie Harris and Marisa Abela take part the clever spy entertainment. October 17th, multiple time slots, Sky Cinema Premiere
